Krueger-Scott Mansion Cultural Center African-American Oral History Project Transcripts
About this Collection
This collection consists of digital transcripts of interviews with African-American residents of Newark. Interviews discuss experiences migrating to Newark and living in Newark in the early-mid 20th century. Over 100 interviews were conducted in the mid-1990s as part of the Krueger Scott Oral History Project supervised by Catherine Lenix-Hooker. All the digital transcripts owned by the library were added here, but more paper transcripts exist at the library.
You can listen to interviews from the project, while at Newark Public Library or Rutgers at this link.
